LAS VEGAS, May 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- CA World -- Nimsoft, a business unit of CA Technologies (Nasdaq: CA), today announced several significant enterprise and service provider customer wins and the introduction of several exciting new products—including Nimsoft On Demand, a software-as-a-service (SaaS) version of the company's flagship monitoring solution.
"Our strategy for cloud computing is clearly paying near-term dividends in terms of sales and partnerships—while also providing us with a strong foundation for capitalizing on the market's enormous long-term potential," said Gary Read, senior vice president and general manager of the Nimsoft business unit at CA Technologies. "Now, with the CA Technologies acquisition complete, we'll be able to bring even more resources to bear in maximizing this potential."
Following is more information about some of the recent accomplishments:
- Rackspace standardizes on Nimsoft. Rackspace, one of the global leaders in hosting and cloud computing and a long-standing Nimsoft customer, has standardized on Nimsoft across its operations, both to offer enhanced infrastructure and application solutions to its managed hosting customers, and to monitor its internal IT and cloud infrastructures. The Nimsoft Monitoring Solution (NMS) will be deployed across more than 60,000 Microsoft Windows and Linux systems.
- Nimsoft Unified Monitoring Alliance membership continues rapid growth. In the past several months, nine more partners joined the Nimsoft Unified Monitoring Alliance, bringing the total to 45. The alliance is composed of leading managed and hosted service providers, cloud and SaaS providers, and ISV development partners that support the Nimsoft Unified Monitoring initiative through product and service enhancements and extensions. New members of the alliance include Bacula Systems, Beachhead Solutions, Mibtree, Mobile Armor, SOASTA, and The Corvid Group.
- Nimsoft On Demand unveiled. Nimsoft On Demand, a Software as a Service (SaaS) Unified Monitoring™ solution, delivers the robust capabilities and benefits of IT monitoring as an on-demand solution. With Nimsoft On Demand, emerging enterprises and service providers can maintain visibility into their business-critical IT infrastructure—including both their internal assets and those in the cloud—without having to purchase, administer, or deploy monitoring hardware and software on their own premises. New customers have already signed up for this service, including SyCom Technologies and American Integration.
- Seven new products delivered. In addition to Nimsoft On Demand, Nimsoft unveiled several other important new products, including Unified Monitoring Portal, a Web 2.0 portal that provides an intuitive, online view of monitoring data; Power Monitor, which enables users to monitor datacenter power efficiency and UPS status through a single dashboard; googleAppEngine and googleApps, for monitoring the domain performance of Google Apps and the status of the Google AppEngine application; ocs_monitor, for monitoring Microsoft Office Communications Server; and RCA and Topology Manager, which offers advanced root cause analysis, automated network topology creation, and active status maps.
