Excella Consulting's In-House Rock Band Brings Home Four Medals in National Competition
Local IT firm competes in national contest for corporate bands.
ARLINGTON, Va., Sept. 17, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Excella Consulting, a technology consulting firm located in the Courthouse area of Arlington, is proud to announce that their in-house rock band, Detached Retina, placed third in The Playoff, an annual battle of the corporate bands sponsored by Inc. Magazine and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Excella musicians also took home three of the six individual awards. Partner and Co-founder Steve Cooper was named "Best Keyboardist," Principal Consultant Jonathan Bruskin earned "Best Drummer," and Principal Consultant Patrick Rasche was awarded "Best Guitarist."
The Playoff took place in Cleveland, Ohio at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on Saturday, September 12th. The battle is an annual music competition for amateur company-sponsored bands who compete for the title "Best Corporate Band in America." Contest proceeds benefit the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
"We couldn't wait to make our return to the stage in Cleveland," says Steve Cooper, Detached Retina keyboardist and Excella founding partner. "We are monumentally proud of our three individual awards and third place title, and we're grateful for the support we received!" Detached Retina is a well-known local favorite of music fans. Started in 2010, they have played at local venues around the DC area, and most recently at the Arlington County Fair.
