Exar Showcases Power Management and Connectivity

FREMONT, Calif., March 19, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Exar Corporation (Nasdaq: EXAR) will be showcasing its Power Management and Connectivity products at the 2012 Embedded Systems Conference in San Jose, CA. Exar design solutions can be seen March 27, 2012 to March 29, 2012, in Booth 2208. These demonstrations highlight Exar's focus on delivering high value differentiated silicon and software solutions. Senior marketing and technical staff will be available to answer questions and brief attendees on Exar's complete product line. 

Power Management Products

Exar will present its portfolio of power management solutions for DC to DC point-of-load power conversion, system controls, and power monitoring as well as LED lighting applications at the show. The Company will highlight its Power(XR) family of programmable multichannel step-down controllers.  Power(XR) products provide flexibility and digital control to reduce development time from weeks to hours, enabling a significant time-to-market advantage for system design engineers.

Connectivity Products

Exar's market leading Universal Asynchronous Receiver Transmitter (UART) solutions and serial transceivers will be on display at the booth. These devices include the recently announced SP338 and SP339 multiprotocol serial transceivers that enable RS-232 and RS-485/422 protocols to share the same communication lines. In addition, the Company's GPIO (General Purpose Input/Output) Expanders - a total of 12 device offerings will be on display. The GPIO Expander product families enable straightforward serial expansion of I/O through an industry-standard I2C, SMBus™, or SPI™ interface. The XRA120x and XRA140x GPIO devices are optimized for a variety of markets including industrial monitoring, handheld battery operated applications, and popular consumer devices such as cellular phones, PDAs and GPS systems.
