Exalt makes it possible for organizations to backhaul ever-increasing amounts of data to the core of their networks without investing in costly fiber or relying on dated technology, such as T1 lines. Serving more than 1,500 customers, including the world's best known mobile operators, government agencies, and enterprises in a variety of industries – including financial services, higher education, healthcare, public safety, utilities, and transportation – the company is the only manufacturer to offer a comprehensive line of both licensed and license-exempt packet microwave backhaul systems.
"Greg joins us at a pivotal moment when the application of packet microwave has the potential to dramatically impact people and businesses for the better," said Amir Zoufonoun, CEO and founder of Exalt. "His expertise and experience will greatly benefit our company and the customers we serve, whether it's enabling consumers to realize the full potential of powerful mobile devices, giving first-responders the advanced communications capabilities they need to save lives, creating smart grids, or rewriting the very definition of high-speed trading."
Prior to joining Exalt, Gum served as senior vice president, chief marketing and business development officer at Telco Systems, a manufacturer of Ethernet, mobile backhaul, and cloud connectivity applications. Before that, he held senior marketing and business development positions with ANDA Networks, a manufacturer of carrier-class Metro Ethernet equipment, and Ishoni Networks, and spent 12 years with US West / QWEST-CenturyLink in various marketing and business development management roles, buying and implementing network solutions from world brands such as Intel, Dell, Cisco, and Microsoft.
Gum completed the Executive Management Program at the Wharton School of Business and received his Bachelors of Sociology & Statistics from the University of Minnesota. He also studied organizational development at the Fielding Institute and received a data networking certification from AT&T.
