eWBM's module is now LoRaWAN Certified(CM) in four different regions
NEW YORK, May 7, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- eWBM Co., Ltd. announced that eLR100-UL, eWBM's secure LoRaWAN® Module, has received LoRaWAN product certification for North America (US/Canada) Region.
With this regional certification, eWBM becomes one of a few companies to have its device LoRaWAN Certified(CM) in four different regions (Korea, Europe, Asia / Japan, North America) by the LoRa Alliance™.
"Certified devices provide end-users with the confidence that the devices have been rigorously tested to the LoRaWAN standard and will work as intended," states Ms. Eunjee Shin, a marketing manager at eWBM. "At eWBM, we feel strongly that we must make a commitment to our customers by providing certified LoRaWAN products that are shipped with the assurance of reliability as well as security and are backed by the LoRa Alliance's world-class certification program."
The LoRa Alliance states that "The LoRaWAN specification is a low power, wide area (LPWA) networking protocol designed to wirelessly connect battery operated 'things' to the internet in regional, national or global networks, and targets key Internet of Things (IoT) requirements such as bi-directional communication, end-to-end security, mobility and localization services."
The DLS76-01K41 module is based on Semtech's SX1276 with MS500, eWBM's secure MCU - high performing and low-power consuming module but with rich features of security.
eWBM's module offers additional security features on top of the LoRaWAN security specification with the AES-128 algorithm. The module is completely protected with security features including secure booting, secure storage, unique device key (not accessible from outside). Thanks to MS500's high performing cryptography engines, the module is capable of performing Public key Infrastructure (PKI) without the added cost of the secure element (SE), which makes LoRaWAN's security level closer to that of an LTE network. Therefore, our module customer can have an option to protect the module even further with PKI algorithm.
"To achieve broad, global adoption as a standard, technology must be backed by a robust certification program that gives consumers and installers confidence their systems will perform as specified," said Donna Moore, CEO and Chairwoman of the LoRa Alliance. "Anyone who is considering LoRaWAN implementations needs to look for the LoRaWAN Certified(CM) mark on devices. It is a mark of quality that guarantees a product will work as planned. This is especially important given the long life of many IoT applications. We commend eWBM for developing quality products by recognizing the value of certification and for the achievement of having its device certified in four different regions."
In June 2019, eWBM will attend the LoRa Alliance All Member Meeting and LoRaWAN Live! event in Berlin, Germany to showcase eWBM's LoRaWAN products and share related communication technologies.
