Evrod Cassimy Joins WDIV-TV Local 4 as Morning Anchor
Cassimy to team up with Rhonda Walker as co-anchor of Local 4 News Today
DETROIT, July 11, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- WDIV-TV Local 4 today announced that Evrod Cassimy will join the newly named morning newscast, Local 4 News Today, beginning Aug. 12. Cassimy will co-anchor 4:30 a.m. – 7 a.m. weekdays alongside current anchor Rhonda Walker.
Cassimy is currently the morning anchor and reporter for CBS4 News in Denver. There, he has covered several big stories including the Aurora movie theater shootings, Michael Moore's Occupy Denver protests and the Colorado wildfires. He began his career in Grand Junction, Colorado at KJCT News 8 and worked in Madison, Wisconsin; Orlando, Florida; and Richmond, Virginia where he won the Virginia Associated Press Award for "Best Coverage of Breaking News" in 2010.

Cassimy has Midwest roots. Born in Berrien Springs, Michigan, he grew up just outside of Chicago and graduated from Columbia College.
