eVolve Mechanical Version 1.02 Delivers New Features, Enhancements
Update Addresses Customer Feedback and Improves on Technology Designed with the Contractor in Mind for Greater Efficiency
AUSTIN, Texas, Oct. 3, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- eVolve, a revolutionary new product leader in the Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) industry, announced today the release of eVolve Mechanical version 1.02, the first significant update to the company's real-time collaboration software for mechanical contractors. The update offers a range of new features as well as modifications to existing functionality to help users better collaborate.
eVolve Mechanical was introduced earlier this year and is designed with the mechanical contractor in mind for greater efficiency. The solution enables all skilled detailers to work together on the same file set for true collaboration. Using model-linked data, MEP systems automatically adjust and stay connected through all phases of collaboration.
"This is our first significant update to the eVolve Mechanical solution that was introduced this summer," said eVolve President Clay Smith. "Based on early feedback from our customers as well as our own monitoring of the software in actual use, we wanted to quickly release an update that incorporates some new ideas and delivers even more functionality to further enhance the technology's value. Our goal is to continue to 'evolve' eVolve into the best solution possible."
Among the new features:
- New prompts and views to help with spooling schedules and management. These additions include a new prompt when a user needs to include a new part in the spool, the ability to view titles and multiple schedule views, and tags in orthographic views.
- A new warning when a hanger placement rule requires a hanger type not available in the fabrication database.
- A new notification when a point has no name priority.
Modifications to the software span improvements to hangers, spooling and field points, including new data elements related to missing information, clash detection and auto dimensioning elements. Additionally, hanger placement speed has been improved and field points have been adjusted to improve stability.
eVolve also has software for the electrical contractor with eVolve Electrical. Built by electrical contractors for contractors, it is purpose-built to improve the prefab deliverable. eVolve Electrical was created out of necessity to be used in translating the design model into the prefab kits, sheets and material listings so that they can be quickly ordered.
eVolve is a new company launched earlier this year and is the sister company to Applied Software, one of the largest AEC, Construction, Fabrication and Manufacturing systems integrators in North America. A news release announcing the new company can be read here.
The eVolve solution is currently available as an annual subscription. For more information about the technology, go to evolvemep.com.
