Evite Announces Comprehensive Site Redesign
-- Implements Phase 1 of Site Redesign --
LOS ANGELES, Sept. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Evite (www.evite.com), an operating business of IAC (Nasdaq: IACI), today announced the launch of the first phase of the site's most extensive redesign to date. At the core of the redesign is a brand new platform that will support Evite's growing user base, currently 18 million monthly uniques and growing, and allow for more innovative product integration than was previously available under the old technology.
In addition to housing hundreds of new invitations available to users, the new site offers a fully upgraded user experience and new tools that make coordinating an event even easier. Phase one of the redesign also includes the launch of a new product, "Event Conversation," where hosts and guests can interact with each other through an ongoing, threaded dialogue. Not only can guests and hosts comment on RSVPs, but the Event Conversation feature provides the host and guests a fun and convenient forum to communicate around a planned event, including posting announcements, asking questions, uploading pictures, polling the guest list and coordinating potlucks with the new "What to Bring" tool. The ability to easily share an event with a user's Facebook friends has also been added.
"After 10 years of consistent growth on our old platform it was time to bring an upgraded Evite service to our users that will enable us to build more innovative products that make event planning and coordinating even easier," said Hans Woolley, President of Evite. "This redesign is just the start; our first step, in a brand new Evite."
As the leading online invitation service on the Web sending over 28,000 invitations an hour, Evite now sports a brand new look and feel, designed in partnership with Fantasy Interactive, that reflects a fresh clean layout that focuses users' attention on the invitations designs. From chic and stylish to vibrant and fun, each invitation on the new site meets Evite's goal of enabling hosts to make an impactful first impression by setting the tone for their event and expressing their personal style.
"Whether it is a last minute happy hour or a baby shower planned months in advance, Evite's goal is to give users free tools to easily invite friends and coordinate offline events while also giving them designs that reflect the personality of their event," Woolley says.
Next on the roadmap for Evite is a suite of mobile applications that will redefine the meaning of an Evite invitation. Very soon the Evite mobile experience will allow people with just a few words, and even fewer clicks, to suggest plans and then coordinate the details, all while on the go in an easy and intuitive manner.
"Offering tools that allow users to quickly transform suggested last minute activities into firm plans naturally complements Evite's existing invitation service," Woolley says.
