And for the first time since the launch of the developer program, Evernote has partnered with African Technology Foundation to hold developer meet-ups in several cities in Africa this past spring. Evernote has named Evernote-connected Chamasoft, a Kenyan-based community finance app, the winner of the African Innovation Award, highlighting the top app to emerge from those events.
The annual contest kicked off this year with dozens of apps being nominated by the Evernote community. Winners were then chosen via a month-long voting process where community members rallied support for their favorite integrations.
"The apps that our platform partners and developers create are incredibly additive to the overall Evernote experience. However you use Evernote, there's an app that can help you do and achieve even more," said Chris Traganos, director of developer relations at Evernote. "We're thrilled to be showcasing the best of the best integrations from our App Center with this year's Platform Awards."
The Evernote App Center features a curated collection of close to 300 apps that have been created by companies large and small from across the globe. Working with the Evernote platform gives developers instant access to an audience of millions of Evernote users and the ability to tap into Evernote's robust feature set. Highly active Evernote users are constantly on the lookout for more ways to incorporate Evernote into their daily lives and App Center integrations can drive significant traffic to partner services.
"Evernote users are among the most engaged on our platform, which is a testament to how useful it is to feedly Pro users," said feedly CEO Edwin Khodabakchian. "We hear from people every day how they rely on feedly to find knowledge and inspiration, then use Evernote to save, organize, and share it with colleagues. Evernote has been feedly's most popular integration from day one, and we're thrilled that the hard work we've put into to making feedly + Evernote so powerful and easy to use is being recognized with this award."
The 2014 award-winning apps will be featured in continuous live demos at the Evernote Conference and can be downloaded today from the Evernote App Center. For more information on the developing with the Evernote API, visit dev.evernote.com.
