EvergreenHealth Physicians Recognized with Seattle Magazine's "Top Doctors 2013" Honor
KIRKLAND, Wash., June 20, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The latest issue of Seattle magazine names 53 physicians within the EvergreenHealth network to the publication's annual "Top Doctors" list.
Each year Seattle asks thousands of local physicians to nominate the peers they would trust with their own loved ones' medical care. The 2013 list features more than 400 providers across 101 specialties.
"We value all of our providers, nurses and volunteers who commit their time to serving our patients and families, and today we're honored to celebrate the 53 physicians who were chosen as Seattle magazine's 'Top Doctors 2013,'" said Bob Malte, EvergreenHealth CEO. In addition to the annual "Top Doctors" honor, EvergreenHealth's Dr. Michael Weiss, an allergy and immunology specialist, was also recognized among this year's Top Doctors "Hall of Fame" for being named to the list 10 years in a row.
Seattle magazine invited all licensed physicians in the Puget Sound area to nominate their peers for the annual recognition. GMA Research and CHCS Internet Development managed and led the data collection and evaluation that determined the final list.
Finalists are selected once nominations from all physicians are tallied, and those who are nominated the most times in each specialty are candidates for inclusion. Additional factors are taken into account before the list is finalized, including the total number of physicians practicing in each specialty, consumer demand for a specialty, the vote distribution, the standing of the candidates, geography, education and residency.
