Civic Center Location Will Start With Approximately 60 Students, Expand to 800 Over Next Three Years
SANTA ANA, Calif., Sept. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Everest College today announced it will open its Santa Ana campus on Monday, September 20, to help meet the growing demand for hands-on, career-focused education in Orange County. Everest's parent company, Corinthian Colleges, Inc., has been headquartered in Santa Ana since its founding in 1995.
The 37,109-square-foot campus is located in the Civic Center Professional Plaza at 505 Civic Center Drive, Santa Ana. Initially, the campus will serve approximately 60 students, and include 40 faculty and staff members and three diploma programs – medical assisting, medical insurance billing and coding, and massage therapy. The number of student, faculty and staff are expected to reach full capacity of approximately 800 students and 100 faculty and staff by 2013. Santa Ana will be the second Everest College campus in Orange County and bring the total number of Southern California locations to 12.
"This is an exciting time for Everest, the community and me personally," said Everest - Santa Ana campus president Linnea Ray. "I'm looking forward to the rewards and challenges my position will bring, and helping provide a meaningful, real-world education to the students who come through our doors."
Once fully operational, Everest College - Santa Ana will feature interactive classroom technology, such as Wi-Fi, laptops and SMART boards, and offer nine diploma and degree programs. Along with medical assisting, medical insurance billing and coding, and massage therapy, the Santa Ana campus will soon offer medical administrative assistant and pharmacy technician diploma programs. Associate degree programs will include criminal justice, paralegal, business and accounting.
"Everest is committed to helping students succeed and, like all of our campuses, Santa Ana will provide programs in high job-growth industries and career placement services," said Ray. "Our newest campus will fill a vital need in the Santa Ana community, providing skills training and important career training opportunities."
The Everest College - Santa Ana campus will play a major role in the community, partnering with several community service organizations including High School Inc., part of the Santa Ana Chamber of Commerce education initiative, and Working Wardrobes, an independent, nonprofit organization that assists adults in life crises with career development and wardrobe services.
