EverBank, Jaguars And HabiJax Give Jacksonville Family Keys To New Home
JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Dec. 19, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- EverBank and the Jacksonville Jaguars teamed up with HabiJax to provide volunteers and funding for the construction of two homes this fall. On December 22, the Finklea family, comprised of Deborah and her two adult, special needs children, Marcus and Michelle, will receive the keys to their new home during the Jaguars game at EverBank Field.
Ms. Finklea will complete 300 hours of volunteer service to earn her home. She has volunteered at the HabiJax ReStore, worked at the home building site, participated in educational workshops and saved money for a down payment to meet HabiJax guidelines and qualify for a home.
"I am so grateful for this opportunity that the Lord has blessed me and my family with in being able to purchase a home through HabiJax," said Ms. Finklea. "I wanted to buy a HabiJax home because I want to be able to leave something for my children."
EverBank employees, Jaguars players, coaches, staff and members of The ROAR Cheerleaders worked on the house throughout the building process.
"Participating in the building of these homes with HabiJax is something our employees look forward to every year," said Rob Clements, Chief Executive Officer of EverBank and Chairman of the Board. "HabiJax and the Jaguars both do so much to help build a strong and vibrant community here in Jacksonville. We are excited that this family will be able to enjoy Christmas in their new home."
