Evana Automation Performs a Turnkey Retool on an Automated Deburring Station for a Major Automobile Manufacturer
The retool allows the manufacturer to produce cylinder head water jackets for several different engine models
EVANSVILLE, Ind., July 20, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Evana Automation Specialists, a leading Systems Integrator and builder of custom, automated assembly and test systems, recently performed a turnkey retool on an automated deburring station for a major automobile manufacturer. The retool allows the manufacturer to produce cylinder head water jackets for several different engine models.
The process begins when the station's first robot unloads the sand casting to the tooling area within the cell. A second robot, with a deburring tool, follows the contour of the water jacket passages to remove excess material. Upon completion, the first robot unloads the tooling nest and places the sand casting onto a belt conveyor, where it is transferred to another assembly line.
"Evana has been involved in many successful retooling projects over the years," said Randy Wire, general manager of Evana Automation Specialists. "This retool solution improves throughput for multiple engine models."
