Eurotech Joins Cisco Solution Technology Integrator Program

Eurotech leverages Cisco products to create competitive solutions for transportation market

COLUMBIA, Md., Dec. 13, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Eurotech, a leading supplier of embedded technologies, products, and systems, announces today they have entered a Solution Technology Integrator (STI) agreement with Cisco Systems. The STI agreement enables Eurotech to incorporate Cisco products into Eurotech next-generation solutions such as the DuraMAR® Mobile Access Router. Under the agreement, Eurotech will create competitive solutions for the transportation market.

Eurotech offers four standard DuraMAR configurations based on the Cisco 3200, to meet customer needs for ruggedization and seamless wireless roaming in the transportation market. The standard DuraMAR offering includes an option for an integrated Gigabit Ethernet switch for additional ports. The switch interfaces with the serial port of the Cisco router, allowing ease of remote configuration and monitoring.

Cisco's best-in-class routing technology has already been implemented in the DuraMAR 1000 and the DuraMAR 2150, both rugged Mobile IP routers developed for use in harsh mobile environments. Eurotech and Cisco recently collaborated on a $7.5M contract for King County Metro Transit to deliver the DuraMAR to more than 1000 buses in the greater-Seattle area.
