The varied programme includes sessions on all aspects of sustainable energy. This year, there is a particularly strong focus on investment, financing and business opportunities, with involvement from the European Investment Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the World Bank's International Finance Corporation, among others.
Awards
The winners of the prestigious Sustainable Energy Europe Awards will be announced on 19 June in a ceremony hosted by European Commissioner for Energy, Günther H. Oettinger. The annual awards recognise outstanding renewable energy and energy efficiency projects in Europe, that demonstrate high impact and replication potential. This year, 262 projects from 14 EU Member States participated, alongside a number of pan-European partnerships. 25 have been shortlisted in five categories: Communicating, Consuming, Learning, Living and Travelling.
Sustainable Energy Europe Campaign
The EU Sustainable Energy Week is the key annual event of the Sustainable Energy Europe Campaign, which showcases activities dedicated to energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions. The event is organised by the Executive Agency for Competitiveness and Innovation (EACI) on behalf of the European Commission's Directorate-General for Energy.
