Eugene's Dr. Kiya Movassaghi is Now Offering CoolSmooth™ Pro
Board certified Eugene plastic surgeon announces the practice's new nonsurgical fat reduction technique
EUGENE, Ore., Sept. 24, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Cryolipolysis, the cooling of fat cells until they die, is an effective way to combat excess fat in common trouble spots, such as the thighs and abdomen. Also known as CoolSculpting®, this technique has been rapidly gaining in popularity as a nonsurgical fat reduction technique.
The CoolSculpting technology works by "freezing" fat cells to the specific temperature where they break down and are then naturally eliminated by the body. Once the fat cells die, they will not return, and so patients who maintain a healthy weight can enjoy long-lasting results.
Dr. Movassaghi is pleased to augment this technology with the addition of the CoolSmooth Pro applicator. The original CoolSculpting system is primarily effective on larger areas of "pinchable" fat due to the design of the applicator. CoolSmooth Pro is a smaller, handheld applicator that allows for treatment of a wider range of areas, particularly the outer thighs.
"Permanently eliminating areas of diet- and exercise- resistant fat has traditionally been possible only through surgical procedures, such as liposuction," explains board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Kiya Movassaghi. "With CoolSculpting and CoolSmooth™ Pro, I can offer my patients an easy way to reduce stubborn bulges on the thighs, abdomen, hips, and back without surgery."
Dr. Movassaghi has been providing treatment with CoolSculpting to his patients for over a year and Movassaghi Plastic Surgery & Ziba Medical Spa has been recognized by Zeltiq®—creators of the technology—as a Crystal Level practice within the network of approved CoolSculpting providers.
"I have many patients who are in good physical shape but have problem areas where they want to reduce fat," says Dr. Movassaghi. "Adding CoolSmooth Pro means we can slim and smooth parts of the body that are notoriously difficult to tone."
CoolSmooth is specifically approved for reducing fat on the outer thighs, also known as the "saddlebags." With the original CoolSculpting device, this area was difficult to treat due to the contour of the leg. Additionally, slimmer patients often simply did not have enough pinchable fat to accommodate CoolSculpting's larger suction applicator. The CoolSmooth applicator does not require pinchable fat, making it an excellent option for smaller patients.
"We're delighted that we can now also help slimmer patients who are looking for non-surgical fat reduction," says Dr. Movassaghi.
