PORTLAND, Ore., June 26, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- District 7 Toastmasters serving Oregon and Southwest Washington announced its new officers for 2017-18. Donna Stark of Eugene will lead the nonprofit organization as District Director, with John Rodke of Eugene serving as Program Quality Director, and Emilie Taylor of Milwaukie as Club Growth Director. Their one-year terms begin July 1.
"My motto for the coming year is 'Empowered to Explore,'" Stark said. "The power of Toastmasters is the program and the people. The program provides the framework. People provide support and guidance — the magic — to implement the program. My passion is seeing members discover their own voice and leadership potential. My vision is that every District 7 Toastmaster is empowered to explore the full range of growth opportunities."
"It's an exciting time to be a Toastmaster," Stark added. "I'm a public works professional, and I compare the launch of the new Toastmasters educational program, Pathways, to road construction. To get a new and improved roadway, we go through construction detours. My goal is to help our district navigate the detours and recognize Pathways as an opportunity to enhance every member's experience."
Stark is an engineering associate for the City of Eugene. She holds the title of Distinguished Toastmaster, the organization's highest educational award, and was named 2009 Division Director of the Year. She joined Toastmasters in 2003 as a charter member of Downtown Public Speakers in Eugene.
