Eugene H. Hawkins, MBA, Recognized for Contributions to Financial Analysis
Mr. Hawkins served as the president of Investment Analytics for more than three decades prior to his retirement
PRINCESS ANNE, Md., July 5, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Eugene H. Hawkins, MBA, is a distinguished biographee of Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are chosen from among a pool of the most prominent professionals and are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
A widely regarded investment theorist with pronounced expertise in quantitative investment research and analysis, Mr. Hawkins served as the president of Investment Analytics from 1984 until his retirement in 2017. In this position, he was able to draw upon approximately 40 years of experience working as a financial analyst on Wall Street, both as an employee of several brokerage firms and as head of his own consulting firm. During this time, Mr. Hawkins authored numerous articles and research papers relevant to the stock market on both the practical and theoretical sides of the industry. Among these many authored works was "Earnings Expectations and Security Prices," which was published in the Financial Analysts Journal. This particular article has been cited numerous times by other writers in the field.
Mr. Hawkins launched a career in the financial sector after receiving a Bachelor of Arts in economics from The University of the South and an MBA from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Early in his professional life, he briefly served as a senior security analyst with Drexel Harriman Ripley and as a financial analyst with Lehman Brothers. From 1973 to 1981, Mr. Hawkins was a senior investment officer with the Mutual Benefit Life Insurance Company. Following a brief stint as a financial analyst with Lynch, Jones & Ryan, he established Investment Analytics in 1984.
Although he is now retired, Mr. Hawkins continues to share his knowledge and expertise through the management of Paradox Investments, a website he hopes will provide a new perspective on the issues surrounding Modern Portfolio Theory, the Efficient Market Hypothesis and the Capital Asset Pricing Model. The informative website also provides empirical research in defense of quantitative stock selection strategies. Mr. Hawkins includes numerous examples in the investments section of the website in support of the ideas set forth by John Maynard Keynes, as well as the father of security analysis, Benjamin Graham. The website also includes in-depth articles on topics unrelated to investing that many have found quite interesting. One article, for example, delves into the question of whether or not IQ tests are an accurate measure of intelligence. Visit http://www.paradoxinvestments.com.
