Landgraf, 66, joined ETS in 2000 as its fifth president and CEO, and has served in that capacity longer than anyone other than the founding president. During his tenure, Landgraf has led ETS to unprecedented growth and success, including the release of numerous groundbreaking research reports, supporting advancements in the art and science of assessment, and reaching more test takers worldwide. Under Landgraf's leadership ETS's annual revenues tripled.
In addition, Landgraf significantly diversified ETS by establishing the organization in the K-12 assessment market, greatly expanding ETS's international business, building its computerized assessment capabilities, broadening its educational research activities, and Landgraf has nurtured ETS's social mission through collaborations with groups serving underrepresented students.
Landgraf has also strengthened ETS's major assessments, such as the TOEFL® Test, the TOEIC® Tests, the GRE® Test, and the Praxis Series™ of teacher assessments, and reinforced ETS's relationship with the College Board as the assessment developer and delivery organization for their SAT® and AP® programs worldwide.
"For 65 years, ETS has been dedicated to producing sound research, advancing learning and increasing opportunities for students around the world. It is an honor and privilege for me to lead ETS," says Landgraf. "I wanted to inform our Board of my intentions well in advance so they could plan accordingly. I look forward to being fully engaged in all aspects of leading ETS until the end of my contract."
A search committee formed by the ETS Board of Trustees will determine and consider internal and external candidates to become ETS's new president and CEO.
