Registration for GACE® Assessments Opens August 19, 2013
PRINCETON, N.J., July 8, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Educational Testing Service (ETS) website for the Georgia Assessments for the Certification of Educators® (GACE®) program is the new location for program-related information and updates, test-taker account management, and more. The GACE program helps the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) meet its goal of ensuring that educator candidates meet required standards before receiving their educator certification.

"The GACE program will consist of an array of brand-new assessments that are aligned with state and national standards for educator preparation and with Georgia state standards for the P–12 student curriculum — the Common Core Georgia Performance Standards (CCGPS)," explains Kelly Henson, Executive Secretary of the GaPSC. "With the launch of the new website, ETS and GaPSC have achieved an important milestone in the realization of our vision."
The new GACE website, found at www.gace.ets.org, offers a wide variety of resources related to the GACE program for both program providers and educator certification candidates. Resources include information about the assessments; test preparation tips and materials such as study companions, study plans, videos, live webinars (starting in September), and interactive practice tests (starting in August); and downloadable program documents, including the GACE® Registration Bulletin.
"We understand how busy educators are, and how important it is that candidates and program providers are able to quickly find the information that is important to them," says George Powell, Vice President and COO of Teacher Licensure & Certification Programs at ETS. "We therefore conducted usability studies during the design process to ensure that the interface is as intuitive as possible."
In addition to the website, customer service support, including online chat, is available to test takers. Live workshops are being offered this summer to support faculty and program providers, and a newsletter and online workshop will be available in September. Program providers can find additional information specifically for them at www.gace.ets.org/program_providers.
Registration for the new program opens on August 19. At that time, candidates will be able to create their testing accounts, register online and print their admission tickets. They will also be able to view their scores for any ETS-delivered GACE test; the first administration will occur on October 5, 2013.
