PRINCETON, N.J., April 15, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- To help HiSET® candidates better prepare for their high school equivalency exams, Educational Testing Service (ETS) and Aztec Software Inc. are releasing an official cloud-based practice test along with accompanying test preparation software. The new materials will be available for delivery on both computer and mobile platforms allowing HiSET students to identify skill deficiencies and prepare for the test at home and on-the-go.
The cloud-based practice test and test prep series will be released in late April 2014.
"As the creator of the HiSET Program, ETS is doing everything it can to help the individuals who will take our high school equivalency exam succeed in their endeavor," said John Oswald, Vice President and General Manager, K-12 Student Assessment Programs, ETS. "That is why we are working with Aztec Software to provide our future test takers with the best possible tools to prepare themselves for the HiSET exam."
The computer-based practice test and general test preparation materials were created by ETS in collaboration with Aztec Software. The practice test and test prep software will include both free and paid features that are designed to help students prepare for the HiSET exam. In addition to the new software, ETS and Aztec Software Inc. will continue work to develop and improve a variety of additional test preparation materials for the HiSET Program.
"While working with ETS to develop this new HiSET Program software, we really put an emphasis on both the quality of the material and its accessibility," said Jonathan Blitt, Chief Executive Officer, Aztec Software Inc. "In an increasingly mobile society, people want to access information anytime, anyplace. By making this software cloud based and offering both computer and mobile access to the information we were able to deliver a high-quality product that meets this demand in the market."
The HiSET Program was developed by nonprofit ETS in order to provide candidates with affordable and accessible paper-based and computer-based tests for high school equivalency. The HiSET exam has already been adopted by Iowa, Louisiana, Maine, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Tennessee and Wyoming.
