ETAS Releases Version 3.0 of Dermatology In-Review Smartphone App
NEW YORK, Feb. 26, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Educational Testing and Assessment Systems (ETAS), the creators of the most comprehensive exam prep resource in dermatology, has developed and launched an upgraded version of the Dermatology In-Review app. The app, entitled Kodachrome Flashcard Series, allows users to customize flashcard sets, and to quickly and easily scroll through hundreds of exam-relevant images and answers.
Dermatology In-Review is one of the most popular Board exam prep programs; it consists of a comprehensive study guide and an interactive Q&A website, among other supplementary resources. The most recent addition to the Dermatology In-Review study system is the smartphone app, which debuted on iTunes in June 2011.
Version 3.0 of the app now accommodates expanded answer explanations, including differential diagnosis, as well as supportive, second-order questions on select images. Also new is the "flag" flashcard functionality, which enables users to bookmark certain images and add them to a personally customized stack. Other customization options include "dermpath only" images, "clinical only" images, or a combined stack of both. Finally, the app database has been amplified with hundreds of new and higher quality flashcard images.
2012 graduate from San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium, Dr. Atif Ahmed, says that the Koadchrome Flashcard Series app is "Truly one of best study tools I have ever used as a resident." Dr. Aaron Wong, final-year dermatology resident at the University of British Columbia, says the app offers "Comprehensive, detailed kodachromes, clinical photos, and histology! The random assortment is great for studying and prepares you for the exam-setting."
The Kodachrome Flashcard Series app is available for free through iTunes and Google Play, and is available for download on Apple and Android smartphones, as well as tablet devices. In order to access this app, users must be registered with the Dermatology In-Review Online Study System, accessible at: DermatologyInReview.com/Galderma.
