ETA Hosts Payments Fly-In & Fintech Policy Forum on Capitol Hill

WASHINGTON, Sept. 13, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Electronic Transactions Association (ETA), the global trade association representing the payments technology world, today will host its annual Payments Executive Fly-In on Capitol Hill. More than 50 payments and technology industry leaders will meet with Members of Congress and federal regulators including the CFPB, Federal Reserve and Treasury, to discuss issues facing the industry. The Fly-In allows ETA members to speak directly to lawmakers and provide insight into how payments drives the U.S. economy.

"With key industry players facing disruption and startups redefining the world of payments, policymakers are taking notice," said Jason Oxman, ETA CEO. "The ETA Fly-In provides a forum for payments industry leaders and policymakers to have a frank and informative conversation about our industry."

Participants will meet with 40 Congressional leaders and regulators including members of the House and Senate Payments Caucuses.  The House FinTech and Payments Caucus and the Senate Payments Innovation Caucus were formed to explore the new and innovative technologies in the payments industry, as well as answer questions about data security, unbanked users' access to electronic payments and more.

The Forum will bring together industry leaders, regulators, and Members of Congress to discuss how emerging payments technology provides consumers and merchants safe, reliable, and rewarding financial services. Topics include privacy, data protection, Internet of Things (IoT), mobile technology, online small business lending, the convergence of traditional and new players, and helping the underserved.
