ET Solar Supplies 10.8MW Solar Modules to Ormat in the US
SAN FRANCISCO, July 9, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- ET Solar Group Corp. ("ET Solar"), a leading solar one-stop solution provider, today announced that it is supplying 10.8MW photovoltaic modules to Ormat Technologies Inc. ( "Ormat"), a world leader in the geothermal power plant sector, for their first photovotalic power plant in California.
This photovotalic power plant is located near Ormat's geothermal power plant in Imperial Valley, about 140 miles to the east of San Diego. It is developed, owned and operated by Ormat. The power generated from this plant will be purchased by Imperial Irrigation District under a 20-year power purchase agreement.
In order to save balance of system costs, 36,868 ET Solar 1000-Volt rated solar modules, which have become more popular for large utility scale projects in the US, have been selected for this project. The project will generate approximately 24,500 megawatt-hours of power per year.
Mr. Dennis She, President and CEO of ET Solar, commented: "We are very pleased to have the opportunity to collaborate with Ormat, a global renewable energy leader, on their flagship project in the US. The fact that this collaboration is a result of collective efforts made by our people from Israel, China, and the US demonstrates our strength as a global company to serve the solar industry. We look forward to contributing more in the fast growing utility solar market in the US and other emerging markets."
