Esteemed Housing Industry Leader Joins Thomas & Herbert Consulting LLC

ARLINGTON, Va., Feb. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Thomas & Herbert Consulting LLC (T&H), a leading provider of management and information technology consulting services for the Government, announced today that Ms. Velma Navarro, former Director of the District of Columbia Housing Authority (DCHA) Housing Choice Voucher Program (HCVP), has joined the company's Housing Consulting Practice.  Ms. Navarro will lead T&H's Chicago Housing Authority (CHA) and Miami-Dade (FL) Housing Authority (MDHA) HCV projects. 

Ms. Navarro played a vital role taking the HCVP in a new direction while at the DCHA over the past four years.  Her most significant contribution to the DCHA HCVP during her tenure was the reorganization of the department which resulted in more effective program operations and enhanced customer service for program participants, property owners and community stakeholders.  Ms. Navarro received DCHA's 2008 Commitment to Excellence Award for her outstanding management and leadership.

Ms. Navarro's career includes serving as a Senior Project Director for the National Organization of African Americans in Housing (NOAAH) providing management support for a list of esteemed clients including the Newark Housing Authority, and serving as Director of Finance and Operations for various other public housing authorities including the Gary, Indiana Housing Authority.  Ms. Navarro is held in high esteem by Government and industry executives for her proven management and leadership skills and knowledge of critical Housing programs.
