Espresa Launches First Enterprise Platform for Improving Work-Life Balance with $2M in Seed Funding
Mobile apps and built-in vendor network simplify providing workplace services for employees
PALO ALTO, Calif., Aug. 2, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Espresa today launched the first platform that allows companies of any size to provide workplace services for employees. Employers use Espresa to deliver and manage services such as car repairs, dry cleaning, massage, and wellness classes through a simple mobile app or web interface. The platform is currently available to companies in the Bay Area, and will expand to other markets next year. Espresa also announced a $2 Million in seed funding from Crosslink Capital, Clear Ventures, TEC Ventures and angel investors.
"Work-life balance is an important topic as HR departments compete to attract and retain top talent," noted Espresa CEO Alex Shubat. "Espresa simplifies providing services that keep employees focused and engaged, and build company loyalty. We streamline business operations with a unified platform for employees to use, employers to manage, and vendors to deliver services in the workplace."
Many companies provide some services today, but they are typically ad hoc, require many staff to coordinate, and the user experience is disappointing. Espresa's platform simplifies the process – for both large companies with existing services and for smaller companies aspiring to take better care of their employees – and includes an expert provider network currently delivering over 160 services.
"Espresa's integrated solution allows companies to offer a variety of onsite services while minimizing cost and administrative burdens. It is a must have for employers in today's market to attract and retain the best talent," praised Energous CFO Brian Sereda.
All administrative, financial, messaging, and ordering capabilities are maintained in the cloud with full featured mobile app and web interfaces. Instead of unique billing, ordering, and support approaches for each vendor, Espresa provides a unified platform to simplify providing and using services, and to analyze their impact on employees' productivity and work-life balance.
"We partnered with Espresa to help raise employee awareness and increase usage of our services," said Kay Mandegarian, CEO of PurpleTie, the largest workplace dry cleaner in the Bay Area. "We've been very pleased so far with usage levels even doubling within just a few weeks of deployment."
Espresa was founded in June 2015 and deployed with Beta customers in February 2016. The platform is launching with 15,000 employees across 25 Bay Area sites ranging from 50 person startups to Fortune 100 companies with over 100,000 employees worldwide.
