Lee was named CEO of ESET's North American operations in January of this year. This position marks his return to ESET where he held the role of chief research officer from 2004 to 2008. Most recently, Lee held the role of chief technology officer at K7 Computing, an anti-virus and Internet security company.
"ESET has been a great supporter of the National Cyber Security Alliance over the past two years and the STOP. THINK. CONNECT. campaign, of which they were a founding member," said Michael Kaiser, executive director of the NCSA. "ESET's commitment to educating the public about cybersecurity is evident through both their dedication to the campaign and the tremendous community leadership they provide with their Securing Our eCity® initiative. We welcome Andrew Lee to the board and his expertise in executive leadership and research."
"NCSA has played a critical role in the development and promotion of online safety and security for all digital citizens– by forging strategic partnerships with other industries and organizations like Securing Our eCity, promoting public awareness, and fostering best practices," said Andrew Lee, CEO of ESET North America. "For these reasons, it is an immense honor to be elected to the NCSA Board. I look forward to bringing my experience and perspectives to the table as we move forward in 2011."
ESET and NCSA began working together in 2009 with the formation of the public-private partnership that developed STOP. THINK. CONNECT., the national public awareness campaign for cybersecurity. NCSA collaborated with ESET to develop the Securing Our eCity Model City project in San Diego to build an engaged community around cybersecurity, enabling all San Diegans to live, play and work safely in the cyber world. Securing Our eCity is an ESET-led initiative to educate businesses and the community about cybersecurity.
