NEW YORK, Aug. 1, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The Board of Directors of ESCORT Inc., the industry leader of radar detection technology, announced that David Thornhill has been named President and Chief Executive Officer of ESCORT Inc. ESCORT designs, manufactures, markets and distributes the world's most awarded and best performing radar and laser detector products. Mr. Thornhill assumes direction of ESCORT and, working with the executive team, will oversee all operations and activities. He will locate at the firm's world headquarters in West Chester, Ohio.

Monomoy Capital Partners, a New York private equity fund investment firm and acquirer of ESCORT Inc., has collaborated with Mr. Thornhill on an aggressive strategic business plan designed to continue ESCORT's domestic market dominance as well as expand ESCORT's business presence in international markets.
Mr. Thornhill comes to ESCORT from Igloo Products Corporation where he established a record-setting sales product portfolio as Executive Vice-President & Chief Operations Officer. During that time he helped with hundreds of new product launches including Sportsman®, a virtually indestructible roto-molded cooler for outdoorsmen, Creatures® lunch bags that help children and parents make back-to-school convenient and fun, and the Super Tough® line of coolers designed with heavy duty exteriors and high performance parts for use on work sites, remote locations and adverse environments.

In addition to his executive product management at Igloo, he has directed operations, marketing and product management at Black and Decker, Fruit of the Loom, The Coleman Company and the Tupperware Corporation.
