eScholar to Support Teacher Evaluation and Teacher Effectiveness Initiatives Toward Improving Instructional Practice
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., Feb. 22, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- eScholar is pleased to announce that its upcoming release of the eScholar Complete Data Warehouse® for PK-12 (CDW-PK12), scheduled for July 2011, will include enhanced support for collecting and analyzing Teacher Evaluation and Teacher Effectiveness data. eScholar, the leader in education data management solutions, has been supporting customers' use of these data to enhance and improve instruction of students throughout education.
In accepting ARRA and SFSF funding from the US Department of Education, state education agencies must articulate plans for measuring and evaluating teacher effectiveness in improving student outcomes. eScholar has been working with customers to enhance eScholar CDW-PK12 to more completely support these requirements. What has emerged from this collaboration is not only an expansion of the scope of data managed by eScholar CDW-PK12, but refinement and improvement of linkages among existing data sets to more tightly integrate and represent the relationships between teachers, their students, the courses teachers and students are associated with, and the assessments administered to those students relative to their course of study.
"We are excited to be delivering functionality that facilitates a deeper understanding of the relationships between teachers, students, courses, and assessments, and how those relationships affect student outcomes" said Russ Redgate, product manager of the eScholar Complete Data Warehouse® solution.
"Our clients recognize the importance of teacher-student relationships to student outcomes," said Shawn Bay, eScholar's Founder and CEO. "Understanding the impact of these relationships requires analyzing a variety of data in combination. These include teacher professional development, qualifications, team-teaching environments, the percentage of time each teacher spends with each student, course / assessment relationships, classroom observation of teaching practice, student program eligibility, program participation and more. eScholar provides the platform to collect, integrate, and analyze this data longitudinally. We see these insights being leveraged to support teachers, strengthen teacher-student relationships and improve instructional practice throughout these institutions."
These and other enhancements – improved email notification throughout the data loading process, enhanced data quality and validation options, improved workflow, enhancements in integrating workforce data – will be available in July 2011.
