ESB Telecoms Ltd Deploys Coriant Solution to Improve Network Scalability and Bring New Services to Market
Leading Irish Telecoms Infrastructure and Bandwidth Solutions Provider Deploys DWDM High-Capacity Network
DUBLIN, Ireland and NAPERVILLE, Ill., Dec. 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- ESB Telecoms Ltd (ESBT) has launched a new high-capacity DWDM network throughout Ireland using Coriant's industry-leading hiT 7300 Multi-Haul Transport solution. The deployment of the new network supports ESBT's vision of providing high-bandwidth services for its wholesale and enterprise customers. The new network offers enhanced transmission speeds of up to 100 gigabits per second (100G) and enables ESBT to cost-effectively scale to meet growing bandwidth requirements in the future.
"This new network enables us to ensure the highest speed of connectivity for our customers as we strive for continued excellence in all areas of our services. Using Coriant's high-performance optical transport solutions will future proof our network and guarantee sustained quality of service," remarked Rory McGowan, Managing Director, ESB Telecoms. "We have chosen the Coriant solution to further enhance our customer value proposition and drive our business forward."
"As the cornerstone for the world's largest carrier-class photonic mesh networks, the hiT 7300 solution is unmatched in its flexibility, stability, and efficiency – and is backed by a future-proof path to higher, per-channel transmission capacities," stated Pat DiPietro, Chief Executive Officer, Coriant. "We are pleased to have been selected by ESBT for this new network. This scalable and intelligent network architecture will position the company to generate new revenue streams by quickly and easily introducing new services."
The Coriant hiT 7300 Multi-Haul Transport Platform was selected by ESBT for its flexibility and service agility. Widely deployed in the most demanding Tier 1 networks in the world, the hiT 7300 delivers superior density and reach, photonic mesh resiliency and agility, and scalability to 100G and beyond. The hiT 7300 enables ESBT to maximize utilization of its fibre infrastructure, while creating a resilient foundation for flexible, high-capacity and low latency services.
The new ESBT network will also utilize the robust capabilities of the Coriant TransNet Planning Tool while being managed by Coriant's well-proven TNMS Management System. With these tools, ESBT can automate workflow and commissioning tasks while accelerating deployment of new services it plans to bring to market. Network planning and dimensioning capabilities allow automated network planning based on simulation of photonic network conditions, which result in optimal design solutions that make even the planning of the largest and most complex photonic networks a relatively easy task.
