NEW YORK, Sept. 8, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Stephen R. Howe, Jr. and Allie Rutherford have been named to the National Association of Corporate Directors' (NACD) 2014 Directorship 100 honorees, a national list which annually recognizes the most influential leaders in the boardroom and corporate governance community. Howe serves as EY Americas Managing Partner and Managing Partner of the US firm, Ernst & Young LLP, and Rutherford is the Director of Corporate Governance in the EY Center for Board Matters.
"It is an honor to be recognized by NACD and to be included with such an esteemed group of dedicated corporate directors and corporate governance leaders," said Howe. "Allie and I look forward to continuing EY's commitment to the highest principles of board leadership, as today's corporate boards face expanding agendas that include shifting global economic conditions, rapid technological change, and market and industry challenges and complexity."
This year's honorees will be recognized during a gala dinner at the eighth annual NACD Directorship 100 Gala on Dec. 3, in New York City.
"In today's dynamic corporate governance landscape, engagement on governance topics is more important than ever. Having dialogue and building relationships with long-term investors can be a strategic advantage – particularly in this new age of activism," said Rutherford. "I join Steve and our EY colleagues in continuing to foster alignment and bridge gaps among boards of directors, management and investors to help build a better working world through effective corporate governance."
