Ernst & Young LLP Names Ruth Saphian St. Louis Managing Partner

ST. LOUIS, March 28, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Ernst & Young LLP is pleased to announce that effective April 1, Assurance Partner Ruth Saphian will serve as the new Managing Partner of the firm's St. Louis office, which this year, celebrates its 100-year anniversary. Saphian, who has been with the firm for 20 years, will be responsible for the deployment of the office's more than 320 assurance, tax, advisory, transaction and business support professionals. She will also lead local client and community service activities. Saphian succeeds Dan Dolan, who has taken on a new role serving one of our larger clients.

Saphian has extensive experience serving multinational SEC corporations and private companies in the retail and mining industry sectors and is known for her client service skills and boardroom presence. She served a two-year rotation in the firm's Professional Practice Group, which provides technical accounting guidance to engagement leaders across Ernst & Young LLP. Saphian also leads diversity and inclusiveness strategy and programming for the St. Louis office.

Active in the community, Saphian serves in leadership roles with the United Way of Greater St. Louis' Women's Leadership Cabinet and the Arts + Education Council Board. "Giving back to the community has always been an important part of my career," said Saphian. "I'm looking forward to redoubling my efforts, as well as supporting the contributions of my Ernst & Young colleagues, to make a positive difference in the greater St. Louis area."

A Certified Public Accountant in Missouri, Saphian received her bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Southeast Missouri State University. She serves on the Southeast Alumni Advisory Committee, as well as the Partners in Progress Board, which focuses on the advancement of the university's accounting program.

Saphian is a native of St. Louis and lives in University City with her two children.
