This event will feature insights from keynote speaker, Jonathan Berman, author of Success in Africa - CEO Insights from a Continent on the Rise, and panelists, including Thomas Laryea, Ashley Bendell, Oluchi Enuha, Yann Pambou and Serigne Diouck, on the opportunities and challenges of doing business in the African market for US companies.
This event aligns with EY's global Vision 2020 strategy, which defines, among the organization's objectives, the commitment to help clients to improve and grow, leading to higher living standards and more opportunities for growing local economies, including fast growing markets such as Africa. Ernst & Young LLP is focused on the issues involved in investing in the African market and reinforcing the key message to clients that "Africa is open for business. " The global EY organization has the capacity to leverage global resources to support US clients in navigating the challenges and complexities of doing business across this continent.
This conference offers Ernst & Young LLP clients and members of PAN a great opportunity to get together and discuss the key issues with each other, and with industry leaders.
Michael Lalor of EY's Africa Business Center says, "It's time for a shift of emphasis and mindset away from the 'why' of investing in Africa toward the 'how' of driving successful growth of private enterprise across the continent. The emphasis should be on what needs to be prioritized in order to further improve conditions for those already doing business across the continent."
This is a sentiment shared by the PAN Africa Network, which hosts quarterly events on successfully investing in the African frontier market. Richard Remy, President of PAN says, "There is growing interest among US companies to enter or grow their existing footprint in Africa. Most conferences focus only on raising capital; however, raising capital is just the beginning. Companies looking to grow in Africa must also think about their business strategy, operating models, risk, technology, information security and a myriad of other complex issues. Our speakers and EY have a unique insight into what it takes to succeed in Africa from a global and local perspective.
