Ernst & Young Expands IT Advisory Services Leadership Team to Serve Growing Market
Appoints Mal Postings as Chief Technology Officer of IT Advisory Services to Drive Business Technology Transformation for Clients
NEW YORK, April 25, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Ernst & Young LLP announced today the appointment of Mal Postings as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of its IT Advisory Services groups, which are part of the firm's Advisory practice. With more than 20 years of experience in information services and technology, Postings will be part of a team that leads the development, execution, and growth of Ernst & Young's IT Advisory Services globally, while helping clients to identify business technology opportunities, manage risk, transform business performance, and sustain improvement.
Postings will work directly with client CIO's and their groups to help them align IT with their businesses. He will also be responsible for helping drive Ernst & Young's "CIO Agenda", which will enable CIO's to look at major business and IT elements overall and identify new technologies to increase business process value.
According to Postings, there are three main driving forces that CIO's need to review at this time; the focus on contributing to top-line revenue growth and innovation, while controlling technology costs, the emergence of the cloud and cross-border social media communities, and how best to select and manage multiple service providers with a focus on governance, compliance, risk, and security.
"We are very pleased to appoint Mal Postings as CTO," adds Bob Sydow, Americas IT Advisory Leader for Ernst & Young LLP. "The entire IT footprint is changing. Companies used to operate their IT entirely within the four walls of their organization. Now they are struggling to deal with how their IT Services are procured and operated. The depth and breadth of Posting's knowledge, in addition to his industry experience, will provide clients with valuable insight to help them gain more from business intelligence, achieve business goals and deal within a very complex IT operating environment."
Postings joined Ernst & Young LLP in 2009 as the firm's lead architect for IT advisory services, bridging its business and IT. Prior to joining Ernst & Young, he served as a global lead architect at Capgemini for more than 10 years.
While at Capgemini, he managed, planned, and led global transformation programs for clients in various industries worldwide, including Australia, China, Finland, France, Italy, Middle East, Portugal, Sweden, UK, and U.S., among others. A published thought-leader, Postings graduated in Mathematics and earned an Executive MBA with a focus on IT and business alignment from Lancaster University.
