Eric Sumberg joins CamberView Partners as Principal - Corporate Communications

SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 19, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- CamberView Partners, LLC, the leading source of independent, investor-led advice for public companies on shareholder activism and engagement, announced that Eric Sumberg has joined the firm as a Principal – Corporate Communications to lead external communications for the company. Mr. Sumberg brings to his new role at CamberView more than a decade of experience in journalism, government, and political and issue campaigns.

Prior to joining CamberView, Mr. Sumberg served as press secretary and then communications director for New York City Comptroller Scott M. Stringer. For three years, he managed short and long-term communications strategies for the office, including corporate governance campaigns and outreach for the $171 billion New York City Pension Funds.

Previously, he worked for three years for New York State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli, handling media strategy for the $184 billion New York State Common Retirement Fund among other high-level responsibilities. Before that, Mr. Sumberg was the Communications Director for State Comptroller DiNapoli's 2010 election campaign, served as Communications Director for New York State Senator Thomas K. Duane and worked as a senior associate for the Glover Park Group in New York City. Mr. Sumberg began his career as a newspaper photographer and writer at several newspapers in the Midwest.

He holds a Master of Studies in Modern History from the University of Oxford and a Bachelor of Arts from Brown University with a concentration in political science.
