Eric Moore joins Avison Young in Los Angeles
Commercial real estate industry leader becomes Principal
LOS ANGELES, Sept. 29, 2015 /PRNewswire/ - Christopher Cooper, Avison Young Principal and Managing Director of the company's Southern California region, announced today that commercial real estate industry leader Eric Moore has joined the firm in Los Angeles.
Effective immediately, Moore becomes a Principal of Avison Young. Working out of both the company's Downtown and Los Angeles West offices, he will provide leasing and mid-cap investment sales services to his clients, focusing on corporate occupiers and institutional investors, as well as government, non-profit and multi-market requirements.
Moore brings 28 years of industry experience to Avison Young, most recently as a Managing Principal at DTZ, where he specialized in advisory services for corporate clients, law firms, technology firms, schools, government and non-profit organizations throughout Southern California.
"We are pleased to welcome Eric as our newest Principal in Southern California, and are very excited to leverage his extensive practice," comments Cooper. "Eric's unique and long-standing reputation for service and transactional excellence will allow us to expand both our leasing and investment sales service delivery platforms. Eric's impressive history of public service is also a key component of this very strategic hire. His recent appointment as a Los Angeles County Commissioner, along with his long-standing tenure as a Board member of the Los Angeles Conservancy and his past service with the Dunbar Hotel Economic Development Corp., will further demonstrate Avison Young's commitment to giving back to the community."
Over the years, Moore's practice has covered a broad spectrum of disciplines, including tenant representation, commercial and industrial project leasing, building sales, acquisitions, and lease negotiations. During his career, he has executed more than 10 million square feet (sf) of transactions.
Moore has worked much of his career with Avison Young Principal and Managing Director of the Los Angeles West office, Jonathan Larsen. "Jonathan and Eric most recently worked together at Cassidy Turley/DTZ," says Cooper. "We couldn't be more thrilled to have Eric on board. He will also strengthen our agency practice along with our institutional capital markets expansion in L.A."
Moore's notable clients have included: AFL-CIO, Amnesty International USA, California Peace Action Committee, Center for Law in the Public Interest, Children's Institute, City of Los Angeles, County of Los Angeles, the General Services Administration (GSA), Telecom New Zealand; Urban League, WorldCom, Albright, Yee & Schmit, Ivie, McNeil & Wyatt, The City Project, and Alliance for College Ready Public Schools.
"I am very excited to be joining the Avison Young family," states Moore. "I was most attracted to the firm's culture, which places a high emphasis on honesty and integrity while fostering a Principal-led, collaborative partnership that is unique in the real estate industry. This culture will allow us to make decisions at the local level and provide speed-to-market for our clients. That's a big differentiator for me."
Moore also serves in his community as a member of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the California African-American Museum, and the Downtown Los Angeles YMCA; and on the Board of Trustees of the Los Angeles County Natural History Museum. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and international affairs from Occidental College, where he was a classmate of U.S. President Barack Obama.
