Eric Clapton's 1964 Gibson Guitar, Civil War Tokens, Antique & Classic Cars, Fine Art & More in J. Levine Auction
3-Day Auction Takes Place Thurs., Fri. & Sat., Oct. 27, 28 & 29
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Oct. 24, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Eric Clapton's 1964 Gibson guitar and 85 other musical instruments, rare Civil War tokens, fine art and more will be auctioned at J. Levine Auction & Appraisal during its three-day auction on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, Oct. 27, 28 & 29. The auction features collectibles from multiple estates, including the second wave of classic and antique cars, vintage toys and other museum-quality items from the Goulden estate which began to be auctioned in September.
Several of Fred Goulden's cars will be auctioned in October, including a 1993 Jaguar XJS Convertible, 1957 Lincoln Premiere, 1949 Ford Woody Wagon, 1941 Cadillac Series 62 4-Door Sedan, and a 1931 Cadillac 4-Door Town Sedan 355-A. In addition, there is a 1985 Spartan and a Model A Ford Hot Rod from another consignor.
Josh Levine, J. Levine owner and auctioneer, said the auction house is already receiving international interest in Eric Clapton's unsigned Gibson guitar.
"This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own one of Eric Clapton's guitars," Levine said. "The Gibson 1964 ES-345 that we will auction comes with strong provenance. It was purchased at auction in 1999 and displayed at the Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix for many years."
Levine said the auction house is also expecting a bidding frenzy over several Civil War tokens circa 1861-1865. Other highlights of the auction include two New York Yankees Champions rings - a 1961 Yankees World Series Champions ring and a 1957 Yankees American League Champions ring that both belonged to Yankee Great, Bill "Moose" Skowron.
The auction also includes an Ernst Menner Stuttgart sterling silver tea set, political memorabilia, including a 1972 Richard Nixon autograph, a rare Vu Cao Dam oil painting, a large Native American Haida totem pole and hundreds of other collectibles.
J. Levine is located at 10345 N. Scottsdale Rd., in Scottsdale, on the southeast corner of Shea Boulevard and Scottsdale Road. Doors open at 9 a.m. with the auctions starting at 11 a.m. Pacific Time each day. The auction house is currently open for a free preview from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Visit www.jlevines.com or call (480) 496-2212.
