Ergotron and Anthro Introduce Dock Locker to Protect Microsoft® Surface™ Pro 3 and Docking Station
Product launch marks first joint effort following Ergotron's acquisition of Anthro
ST. PAUL, Minn., March 11, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Ergotron, Inc., a leading global manufacturer of digital display products, and Anthro Corporation, a recently acquired subsidiary of Ergotron and manufacturer of functional furniture for technology, introduce the Dock Locker to physically secure Microsoft® Surface™ Pro 3 devices and Surface Pro 3 docking stations, protecting them from damage and theft. The neat, sleek appearance makes the Dock Locker an ideal solution in customer-facing transactions in commercial industries such as retail, finance and hospitality.

The Dock Locker is a single and secure desk-mounted solution that can be bolted, screwed or tethered to an existing workstation, then locked around the Surface Pro 3 tablet and Surface Pro 3 docking station. When closed and locked, the Dock Locker firmly grips the top of the Surface Pro 3 and won't mar the device. The keyed lock keeps the unit secure and also locks the security slot for a cable tether, if used. Once unlocked, the device can be removed with the push of a button. The Dock Locker also conceals ports on the back and sides of the docking station, which helps to keep cords and cables plugged in and prevent tampering.
"As a participant in Microsoft's 'Designed For Surface' program, Anthro worked closely with the Surface team to create a desktop security solution to optimize the workflow in retail, finance, hospitality and commercial markets," said Michael Mullen, design development manager at Anthro. "Other security solutions are available, but they're big, bulky and hamper mobility. The Dock Locker allows for both security and mobility and finally provides field engineers, sales managers or others who are 'hoteling' or working in an unassigned office space—with a secure and sleek solution."
"Anthro is the newest addition to the Ergotron family of brands and the Dock Locker is the perfect opportunity to showcase how well the two companies are positioned to meet market needs," said Cheryl Holt, assistant vice president of product management for Ergotron. "With Anthro's U.S. production facilities and Ergotron's broad channel relationships in the commercial market, the perfect solution and distribution network could be created for Surface Pro 3 users."
