Equivio Adds Clustering to its E-Discovery Analytics Suite
New Version of Equivio Zoom Also to Include Enhanced Search and Security Features
KENSINGTON, Md., Aug. 20, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Equivio, a provider of analytical solutions for e-discovery, today announced that Equivio Zoom V2.2 will feature a newly developed Clustering component. Document clustering enables improved review efficiency by automatically organizing review batches based on their conceptual content. The Clustering component will be available as a standard feature of Zoom, Equivio's end-to-end e-discovery platform for predictive coding and analytics. Clustering is offered at no additional cost, as part of the standard Zoom license.
Incorporated within Zoom's patent-pending batching technology, Clustering is used to create and assign review batches, where each batch consists of documents belonging to a single cluster topic. Equivio's batching tool also supports review prioritization based on relevance scores, while ensuring that near-duplicate documents and email threads are always maintained within the same batch. This ensures that each review batch comprises homogeneous content, allowing for more effective document review.
Clustering is also useful in early case assessment and investigations, allowing experts to navigate through large document collections and map data into conceptual groupings. This accelerates the identification of issues and areas containing significant content and material of interest.
In addition to Clustering, Zoom v2.2 includes enhanced search capabilities, as well as integration with Microsoft Active Directory (AD) for managing user security. The Beta version of version 2.2 was released on August 13, with the GA version scheduled for release in early September.
Zoom is an integrated web platform for e-discovery analytics and predictive coding. Combining Equivio's best-of-breed near-duplicates, email threads, relevance and clustering components, together with data import, early case assessment and powerful search capabilities, Zoom provides law firms and corporations with the tools they need for easier, faster and smarter e-discovery.
"Based on customer feedback, Equivio is constantly developing and enhancing its products and technologies to meet the evolving needs of the e-discovery market," said Amir Milo, CEO of Equivio. "Clustering will enable our customers to perform faster and smarter e-discovery by reducing the complexity of large document collections and giving them actionable insight into the content of their data. The benefits to Zoom users go straight to the bottom line – increased productivity and reduced review costs."
