National Same-Sex Commitment Ceremony
PHILADELPHIA, April 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Over 100 same sex-couples, with more than 5,000 gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and allies as witnesses, will reaffirm their relationships at an interfaith commitment ceremony at SundayOUT! at The Piazza on Sunday, May 2 at 2:30 p.m. The same-sex commitment ceremony through Project 1138 brings attention to the 1,138 federal marital benefits denied same-sex couples, including denying those legally married in five states and Washington, D.C.

Clergy performing the ceremony are Rabbi Linda Holtzman, Senior Rabbi at Mishkan Shalom, Philadelphia; Reverend Timothy Safford, Rector, Christ Church Philadelphia; and Elder Joseph Tolton, Pastor, Rehoboth Temple Christ Conscious Church, New York. Same-sex couples with many bringing their children will participate in affirming their relationships.

International Equality Dinner at the National Constitution Center
Equality Forum presents its International Role Model Award and International Business Leadership Awards on Saturday, May 1, from 7 – 10 p.m. at the National Constitution Center.
Attorneys David Boies and Ted Olson will receive the 15th Annual International Role Model Award.
CNN will receive the 8th Annual International Business Leadership Award. Tony Maddox, Executive Vice President and Managing Director, CNN International, will accept the award.
U.S. Senators Bob Casey and Arlen Specter will attend. Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell is the Honorary Dinner Chair.
