Episerver Names Technology Strategist Sue Bergamo as CIO and CISO

Bergamo brings to the newly expanded role more than two decades of leadership experience in strategic planning, product management, IT operations and infrastructure, cybersecurity, data management, application development and process redesign at Fortune 500 companies including Cigna, CVS Pharmacy, Liberty Mutual and Staples. As Episerver's first CIO to assume the broader CISO role, Bergamo will continue to drive the company's long-term IT strategy, as well as its agenda for security and risk strategies, collaborating across departments in support of the company's comprehensive risk and security assessment program.

Before joining Episerver, Bergamo was a global technology strategist at Microsoft for over three years, where she worked with a worldwide team of enterprise architects and account managers to execute the strategic development of a range of applications, products and solutions. Prior to her role at Microsoft, Bergamo served in a number of CIO positions including facilities management and food services conglomerate Aramark. She also headed up enterprise data management at global office supply retailer Staples and oversaw enterprise application development for drugstore giant CVS Pharmacy.

Bergamo currently serves on the board of the Society for Information Management (SIM), and also co-chairs the Career Development Committee. She is also a member of the CIO Executive Roundtable. During her time with Microsoft, Bergamo served as chairperson for the New England division's Women and Leadership Committee and as a board member on the Diversity and Inclusion Committee. Bergamo holds a Bachelor of Science in business management from Post University in Connecticut and a Master of Business Administration from Boston University.
