Epic Wines & Spirits Signs as Exclusive Distributor for Domaines Albert Bichot USA in California

CAPITOLA, Calif., Jan. 30, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Epic Wines & Spirits and Domaines Albert Bichot USA are proud to announce their distribution partnership effective immediately. Epic will exclusively represent Albert Bichot wines across California. The partnership will focus on wines including Bourgogne Chardonnay Vieilles Vignes, Bourgogne Pinot Noir Vieilles Vignes, Cremant de Bourgogne, Cremant Rose de Bourgogne, Pouilly Fuisse, Macon Villages, and St Veran. 

Since 1350, the Bichot family has made Burgundy its home. In 1831, Bernard Bichot founded a merchant house bearing his name in Monthelie, a couple of kilometres south of Beaune. At the end of the 19th century, his grand-son Albert Bichot definitively installed its headquarters in Beaune. The family craft has been passed from father to son since then.

Alberic Bichot has been managing the company since 1996 and represents the 6th generation doing so. To continue to grow and create the best wine and express the best of the terroir, Albert Bichot has acquired vineyards in the most highly regarded growing areas. Domaines Bichot now owns four estates set in the heart of the four great viticultural regions that make up Burgundy: Chablis, Cote de Nuits, Cote de Beaune and Cote Chalonnaise. Each estate consists of vineyards cultivated with sustainable practices.

A piece of Burgundy history, Domaines Albert Bichot is an historic winery established in 1831, and has traditionally been known as one of the most important negociants in Burgundy. The first traces of the Bichot family date back to 1214. From 1350, the family was established in Burgundy, at its stronghold in Chateauneuf-en-Auxois.
