Epic Health Services Expands Footprint in Virginia with Acquisition of Rehabilitation Associates
DALLAS, May 10, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Epic Health Services Inc., a portfolio company of Webster Capital and Dallas-based provider of pediatric skilled nursing, therapy, developmental, enteral and respiratory services, announced today that it has acquired Rehabilitation Associates. Based in Virginia Beach, Virginia, Rehabilitation Associates is the state's largest private pediatric therapy provider, serving over 3,000 children and employing approximately 150 professionals.
"The professionals and therapists at Rehabilitation Associates have a reputation of delivering exceptional patient care, and that drew us to this opportunity," said Chris Roussos, Epic president and CEO.
Rehabilitation Associates provides occupational, physical and speech therapy, special instruction, and service coordination for children with special needs, including autism, developmental delays, cerebral palsy and Down syndrome. Services are provided in their three state-of-the-art clinics through the Virginia Part C early intervention programs and in collaboration with numerous school systems throughout the state. The company is making significant strides toward offering Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services for children with autism spectrum disorder, which complements the ABA services already being provided by Epic Developmental Services, a division of Epic Health Services.
"Epic has a strong presence in pediatrics and understands the importance of providing the highest quality service to patients and their families," said Tracy Miller, co-director and co-owner of Rehabilitation Associates. "We share a common patient-centric perspective, which makes the union of our two companies an ideal scenario."
The experienced management team and therapists at Rehabilitation Associates will remain in place.
"In aligning ourselves with Epic Health Services, we will have the scale, breadth and capabilities to accelerate our growth in the national arena of pediatric therapy services," said Sherry Johnson, Rehabilitation Associates' co-director and co-owner. "This will allow us to achieve our goal of providing the highest quality of services to more clients and to provide a wider array of services."
