DALLAS, Oct. 13, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Epic Health Services Inc., a portfolio company of Webster Capital and Dallas-based provider of pediatric skilled private duty nursing, therapy, developmental, enteral and respiratory services, announced today that it has acquired Pediatria Healthcare for Kids. Based in Norcross, Georgia—about 20 miles northeast of Atlanta—Pediatria provides pediatric home health care services and introduces a new service line to the Epic continuum of care: pediatric day health centers, which provide skilled nursing needs, as well as speech, occupational and physical therapy services, in a center-based environment.
"Pediatria has a respected reputation, particularly for its pediatric day health centers," said Chris Roussos, Epic president and CEO. "These centers will add a wonderful new element to our pediatric care continuum, giving us another environment in which to provide care to the most medically fragile of children. We look forward to seeing how we can grow this service line across our current service territory and bring it to the patients and families who need it."
The acquisition will expand Epic's footprint into three new states—Georgia, South Carolina and Florida—while growing the company's current presence in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Massachusetts, Texas and Louisiana. Pediatria currently serves over 700 patients throughout its 29 locations. By joining forces with Pediatria, Epic will now be providing care to more than 47,000 patients annually in 21 states.
"By bringing our two companies together, the growth plans we had in place at Pediatria will be realized much sooner with the backing of Epic's resources," said Joe Sansone, chairman and CEO of Pediatria. "The missions, values and culture of both our companies align and will serve as a catalyst for exceptional growth."
"Epic's long-term plan is to be the ultimate pediatric continuum of care for the many medically fragile children living in the U.S.," Roussos said. "Both Epic and Pediatria are committed to best-in-class clinical care, and we'll continue on our mission to enhance and sustain the comfort and well-being of our patients that we're privileged to serve."
