epi24 Survey: Millennial Women Embrace Sex-Positive Attitudes

The survey, conducted online in October by Harris Poll on behalf of epi24, asked over 2,000 U.S. adults to rate a series of statements related to sex toy usage. Millennial women between the ages 18 and 34 appear to be more agreeable than older women to the benefits of sex toys and are more likely to say that they feel empowered by sexual self-satisfaction.

• 71% of women age 18-34 agree that sex toys can add intimacy in the bedroom, compared to only 40% of women age 45 and older.
• 67% of women age 18-34 agree that using a sex toy can help a person know their body better, compared to 40% of women age 45 and older.
• 47% of women age 18-34 agree that they feel empowered when pleasing themselves sexually compared to 29% of women age 45 and older.

Only a small portion of American women agree that they feel selfish pleasing themselves sexually--just 15% among women age 18-54 and 8% among those age 55+.

Survey Methodology

The survey was conducted online within the United States by Harris Poll on behalf of epi24 from October 13 through October 15, 2015, among 2,009 adults 18 and older, of which 1,049 were women and 293 were women age 18-34.
