EOS Climate Voted Best Project Developer by Leading Environmental Market Participants
SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 12, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- For the second straight year, EOS Climate has won top recognition by Environmental Finance and Carbon Finance magazine, in the publication's 13th Annual Market Survey. The awards are for Best Project Developer - North American Markets and Runner-up for Best Offset Originator – California.
The closely-watched awards are based on surveys of leading participants in the carbon, U.S. emissions, weather risk management and renewable energy certificate markets. EOS received awards for Best Originator and Project Developer in 2011.
"We appreciate recognition of the quality of our work by market participants, and look forward to continuing our leadership in delivering compliance offsets and driving innovation for California's new program," said CEO Matt Jones.
The impacts of refrigerants on climate continue to draw unprecedented attention by media, policymakers and corporate sustainability leaders. California's new emissions trading program is the first program in the world to recognize destruction of phased-out refrigerants as a high quality offset.
To-date, EOS projects have generated more than 2.5 million metric tons of greenhouse gas reductions from aggregation and destruction of used refrigerants, with every pound of eligible gas converted to marketable carbon assets. EOS typically delivers over 25% faster than the average for similar projects, and significantly faster than other offset project types.
