EOIR Awarded $3.5M Tactical Mission Command Software Support Contract
FREDERICKSBURG, Va., May 13, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- EOIR Technologies, Inc. announced today that it has been awarded the $3.5 million task for Tactical Mission Command (TMC) Software Support on its support to the Armament Software Engineering Center (ASEC) Omnibus II contract. As the prime on this effort, EOIR will support development of the next generation thin client version of the Command Post of the Future (CPOF), now named Tactical Applications (TacApps), in support of the U.S. Army Research, Development and Engineering Command (RDECOM) Armament Research Development and Engineering Center (ARDEC).
ASEC is the first and only DoD software engineering center to attain Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Level 5 certification, and EOIR's support on this contract means that they will be performing in compliance with CMMI Level 5 process requirements. EOIR will provide ASEC with process software engineering life cycle support, including software architecture, design, development, software coding and implementation, and testing activities, including unit and systems integration.
"It is a great credit to EOIR that ASEC has selected EOIR as its prime TacApps developer," said Gregory Schneck, Director of Strategic Programs at EOIR. "We are grateful that ARDEC recognizes our long term mission command capabilities, and we look forward to supporting their effort."
EOIR began supporting ARDEC in 2011 when weapon technologies started to merge with the sensor technologies that EOIR has been at the forefront of for more than 30 years. EOIR opened an office at Picatinny Arsenal in December of 2012 at the base known for being the Tri-Service Center for Lethality, and support to that location has grown rapidly since then.
