FLXfit™ featured at NASS - Dr. Peloza to present his initial clinical experience with EOI's expandable cage
OR AKIVA, Israel, October 13, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --
Expanding Orthopedics Inc. (EOI), a privately held medical device company focused on developing and commercializing innovative expandable devices for spine surgery, is excited to announce that Dr. John Peloza of the Texas Back Institute in Dallas will present his initial clinical experience with the FLXfit™ at NASS. Dr. Peloza, who was the first to implant the FLXfit™ in the US, will discuss the results of his first patients' series.
Dr. John Peloza, an internationally renowned orthopedic spine surgeon, said that "With nearly one year follow-up on my first FLXfit patient and with over 20 FLXfit cages successfully implanted so far, I can really see the benefit of using this unique expandable device with my MIS surgical technique." He explained that "The FLXfit, thanks to its articulated design, small profile and unique expansion mechanism, enables me to deliver a large implant posteriorly through a small and single TLIF port, something I haven't been able to do until now." Dr. Peloza noted, "All my FLXfit surgeries have been successful so far and all my patients are feeling better at their last follow-up visit; image analysis has shown no signs of subsidence or migration."
Ofer Bokobza, CEO of Expanding Orthopedics, said that "We are thrilled with Dr. Peloza's results so far was able to gather such a high level quality clinical data in such a short period of time." Ofer added, "Dr. Peloza is one of many US surgeons that have decided to fully integrate the FLXfit™ into their daily practice as the treatment of choice for their patients."
