Envirosystems' MATTA-LIFT® transforming catalyst changeout operations

"We are extremely pleased with the performance of our new MATTA-LIFT® technology," says Mike Ryan, President and CEO of Envirosystems. "It is important to note that during this project, MATTA-LIFT® not only proved it can successfully perform under severe weather conditions, that shut down traditional crane operations, but also proved it can outperform a crane in good weather. While there is a longer lead time in set-up and engineering required, the cost savings far outweigh any costs incurred, while enhancing safety and increasing productivity."

A recent project completed in the United States saw the MATTA-LIFT® save nine shifts on the catalyst load, operating in wind conditions that would have shut down a crane for safety reasons, while preventing the catalyst material from getting wet during heavy rain. Had a crane been used, the loading would have taken an additional 4 ½ days. Regardless of the weather conditions, the MATTA-LIFT® would have saved 36 hours in comparison to traditional loading with a crane.

Additional facts:

• Zero safety incidents or injuries over a three-month project.
• MATTA-LIFT® loaded in torrential rain.
• MATTA-LIFT® loaded in winds up to 45+mph (72kph) at reduced elevator car speed of 150'/minute (0.76200m/s)
• Third party dense loading machine loaded at, or above design capacity, 24 ton per hour, first time ever.
• Third party dense loading machine never ran out of catalyst.
• Project was performed with a single car on the second largest hydro treating reactor in North America.
• Because of the MATTA-LIFT®, the dense loading machine was able to load four beds in an average of eight hours per bed. In the past, this took 12 to 14 hours per bed.

Clint Stewart of Mattawa Industrial Services, which operates the MATTA-LIFT®, stated, "We are actively scheduling projects for late 2017/ 2018 and we are building more units to meet our client's needs. However, we will have to schedule projects on a first come, first serve basis."
