Environmental Protection Agency Awards $26 Million Task Order to SAIC
Company to Support the Development, Operations and Maintenance of Software and Data Delivery Components, Helping Enhance Information Sharing
MCLEAN, Va., April 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) (NYSE: SAI) today announced it has been awarded a task order by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to provide technical services and information technology (IT) support to the EPA's Office of Environmental Information (OEI). The follow on task order has a one-year base period of performance, four one-year options, and a total value of more than $26 million if all options are exercised. Work will be performed primarily in the National Capital Region. The task order was awarded under EPA's Software Engineering and Specialized Scientific Support (SES3) Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA).
OEI manages the life cycle of information to support EPA's mission of protecting human health and the environment. It identifies and implements IT and management solutions that strengthen the agency's ability to ensure the quality of information, and the efficiency and reliability of technology, data collection, exchange efforts, and access services. Under the contract, SAIC will support the development, operations and maintenance of EPA software, data delivery, and related components. These services will help the agency enhance information sharing between its headquarters, regional organizations, and supporting entities. SAIC will also provide database management and support, and design and development services for GIS (geographic information system) components, and interface/access systems, such as My Environment, a web-based application providing meaningful environmental information to the public in a single search.
